Jiangsu College of Safety Technology was founded in 1978, which is a full-time public higher education college in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. In 2015, after the approval of the government of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu College of Safety Technology was established on the basis of Xuzhou Higher Vocational School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. It is the only higher vocational college characterized by safety majors and dominated by technical majors in Jiangsu Province.  

Presently, Jiangsu College of Safety Technology consists of two campuses ---- Jiawang and Yunlong, covering more than 30 hectares. There are 7 schools and 1 teaching unit in the college. 10,210 full-time students study here. Among 536 faculty members, 108 are professors or associate professors. 1 teacher was selected as “leading teacher of vocational education in Jiangsu Province”, 3 teachers are selected as the cultivating candidates of the “333 Project of Jiangsu Province”, and 8 industry professors.

Nowadays, Jiangsu College of Safety Technology closely follows the needs of safety emergency response profession, regional economic development and industrial restructuring. The college offers 25 three-year vocational majors. And it forms 6 industrial patterns, which are Resources and Environment Safety, Intelligent Manufacturing, Transportation Information Technology, Financial Business and Culture&Art. The college has 26 training bases, 149 training rooms, including national training base, elevator training base, new energy vehicles and cloud computing training base, and the total value of teaching and research equipment is more than 83. 3 million RMB.

 In recent years, the teachers and students have achieved excellent rewards in various competitions, such as in Challenge Cup, National Skills Competition, One Belt And One Road Vocational Skills Competition. In 2020, the school ranked 30th in Jiangsu Higher Vocational College Skills Competition.

The college actively implements the international education strategy, and has established long-term cooperative relations with institutions in Russia, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea and other countries. At the same time, the college will actively develop exchanges and cooperation with universities in Taiwan. The university is one of the first batch of Talent Training Base Project for Sino-foreign Cultural Exchange in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing by the Ministry of Education, and one of the first batch of Jiangsu German Higher Vocational Education Cooperative Alliance Project by the Department of Education.

Jiangsu College of Safety Technology has made great achievements and won many rewards. The college was awarded as Jiangsu Civilization Unit, Jiangsu Outstanding Unit of National Vocational Students Skills Competition, Demonstrative Project of Safety Training in vocational college and Jiangsu Emergency Fire Science Education Base.
